I bought an Aspire one in November to beat the christmas rush. Played with it for a week then put it under the tree. Come Chrsitmas day switched it on no problem. Had my roast turkey dinner came back switched it on again. Dead!! just a black screen and the fan going. Took it back to comet who were very good about it and gave me a replacement. One month later same problem. Just spoken to acer who say its waiting for a new motherboard. Just hope I dont wait months like some of you guys.

Thanks for your feedback on Aspire One. First time I've heard about this. Didn't know that Acer treats customers like that?

I loved my first Aspire One til the day-- 1 month into ownership -- when I got the fatal black screen when I turned it own. No, it had never run hot & I had never opened it up.
Sent it back to the manufacturer ; was told the return would be 7-10 days. called on the tenth only to be told that they had pulled the hard drive but also needed to replace the motherboard & one was not available.... on back order... no idea when it would come in.
I fought it all the way up the ladder, but they offered me a refurbished one if they had one (they did not). Or I could wait til no-one-knew when and get my old one now refurbished with two months+ gone from the warranty. Finally they offered a refund (which I still haven't seen one month later).
Since I hadn't been able to find another netbook whose keyboard I could use, I convinced myself it was just a fluke... and bought another one....
which black screened one hour ago.
HELP!
I love the AA1 except for the minor detail that it appears to be a one-month wonder.
