I love my UMPC. It is the ultimate portable computing device. Over the holidays, my Samsung Q1 was the only PC I took with me as we traveled to visit family and it worked fantastically. I was able to use it to get directions, surf the web, play games, keep track of card game scores, scribble notes, brainstorm resolutions, listen to music, read ebooks, and share photos. Honestly, I don’t know that anyone has ever well defined what a “companion device” really is, but this sounds pretty darn close!
Today I’ve ordering my Q1 a hard-earned reward for its 16 months of faithful service – a new extended battery. The wear on my extended battery has taken it down to about two hours of life and I can’t wait to get back to the four to five hours I used to get. The decreased battery life is the only complaint I have of my Q1.
