Picked Up A New Device

May 4th, 2007

It has been a while since I have bought any new hardware (the Q1 was the last thing I bought), but the other day I broke down and purchased a Verizon xv6700 Pocket PC phone. I have only had it for a day now, but I have to say that I am glad to be back on the Pocket PC platform. The convenient access to my agenda and some reference documents alone are worth the cost.

I have installed iGuidance and paired the phone up with my bluetooth GPS receiver and it worked like a champ. The pocketable navigation will be very convenient and may displace my UMPC as my navigation aid while traveling.

I know there are a lot of reviews of this product on the web, but I will be adding some of my impressions here over time.

  1. I love my XV6700! I use it for almost everything and it’s been an amazing companion for almost a year. It’s by far my most used Pocket PC ever, and the ability to access the Internet from nearly anywhere has been a huge asset to me on countless occasions. Exchange connectivity, maps, music, notes, passwords, e-mail, Web, games, and on and on. I did have a quirky little problem that bugged me for a few months, but I found a solution for it which I mentioned on my site last week.

    Enjoy your XV6700!
