Geekin’ Out

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Yesterday afternoon I had a special treat. I had the chance to sit down with Josh Bancroft for about an hour and a half and geek out like we used to do in the good ol’ days. We chatted about all the new stuff that’s happening in the tech world and did a bit of show and tell. It was reminiscent of when we used to record the Tiny Podcast. I enjoyed myself so much as we talked about topics that ranged from creating Mii characters to the state of the web. I respect Josh as the foremost authority on web technology that I know (beyond being just a great friend).

Our chat refreshed my interest in blogging and sharing my voice, so I am going to try and write more of the many geeky thoughts I have been having lately. Thanks for your time Josh - it was great!

Picked Up A New Device

It has been a while since I have bought any new hardware (the Q1 was the last thing I bought), but the other day I broke down and purchased a Verizon xv6700 Pocket PC phone. I have only had it for a day now, but I have to say that I am glad to be back on the Pocket PC platform. The convenient access to my agenda and some reference documents alone are worth the cost.

I have installed iGuidance and paired the phone up with my bluetooth GPS receiver and it worked like a champ. The pocketable navigation will be very convenient and may displace my UMPC as my navigation aid while traveling.

I know there are a lot of reviews of this product on the web, but I will be adding some of my impressions here over time.

I Love How Helpful Microsoft Is…

I’ve been having some issues with my laptop lately and have experienced more than a couple of BSOD’s. Here’s the text from the screen that I love the most:

“A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.”

Oh come on
