I know I have completely disappeared from the blogosphere lately and I feel really bad for having done so. We recently purchased a new home and the honey-do list is longer than it has ever been in 12 years of marriage. From the moment I finish dinner to the moment I fall exhausted into my bed at night is filled with different activities around the house. As a partial list, I’ve hung ceiling fans, painted, installed a garage door opener, graded the back yard, built a fence, built shelving in the garage, and installed sprinklers.
Being the geek that I am, I’ve included my UMPC in as many of these projects as possible. Sometimes I just use it as my jukebox to play music while I work, but sometimes it helps me plan things out. As an example, check out my sprinkler planning (the guy at Home Depot was impressed):

I’m hoping that as the projects are getting smaller, I’ll have more time to update Geekblog…so stay tuned!
Congrats on the new house! I was wondering when it was going to be finished. It’s been so long since we talked that I didn’t know for sure.
Way to geek up your household chores. I’ve been learning that in addition to all the other geeky tendencies I have, I’m a power tool geek, too. I love buying (but not necessarily even using!) new power tools.
I might have to hire you to come over and help me with some projects. Heck, if Rachel finds out how handy you are, she might hire you directly.
